On Saturday November 8, 2025 there will be a Day of Storytelling for the Tikahtnu Upper Cook Inlet as part of an effort to have our area designated as a National Heritage Area. At that event more than fifty "storytellers from across the Anchorage-Tikahtnu Upper Cook Inlet area are coming together to reflect on who we’ve been, who we are now, and who we want to become. "
On this episode we hear Jasmine Redgrave's story and talk with Taylor Strelevitz about the event.

The Dashboard Diaries #4: Wenatchee, WA
It can be hard for Alaskans to feel connected to the rest of the country. I recently went on a nearly coast to coast drive with my daughter and her family as they moved from South Carolina to Washington State. As we drove 500-mile days for a week a few connections between places on our drive and my home city of Anchorage emerged.
Welcome to the Dashboard Diaries a special four-part mini-series brought to you by the AnchorED City Podcast.
During this four-part mini-series we will connect with Anchorage’s soul through her history, stories, and people by connecting to four places along the road from our drive across this vast land of ours.
On this episode we consider a connection between Wenatchee, WA and Anchorage.

Anchorage has had its share of minor league sports teams over the years – The Northern Knights of the Continental Basketball Association, the Anchorage Aces Hockey team, and the short-lived Arena Football team the Wild – but it has never had a professional baseball team. However, one team was a frequent guest in Alaska’s largest city back in the late 1950’s. We tell that story on this special July 4th edition of the Anchored City Podcast.

Monday Jun 09, 2025
Summer time means a lot of different things in Alaska. Camping, fishing, hiking and for many it also means live music. On this episode I’m talking to two Anchorage musicians that you might see at a show this summer.
Pepper Kit is a local singer-songwriter and one of the folks behind the popular Girl Crush events.
Travis Carbaugh is a guitarist that has played in a number of top local bands. He is currently playing in the band Red Flags and working on a couple of metal projects.

Alaskans are serious about who is a real Alaskan and who isn’t. The pursuit of understanding who is a real Alaskan is more often than not tied to a Frontier mentality and the legend that has been created around the 49th State.
The mythology of Alaska is the topic of the award-winning podcast The Alaska Myth. On this episode we talk with Kaitlin Armstrong the host & executive producer of The Alaska Myth.

The Dashboard Diaries #1: Greenville, SC
May 19, 2025
Alaska feels a bit removed from the rest of the United States because it is separated from the contiguous 48 states by a minimum of 500 mile. Anchorage is even further away. That distance can leave residents not only distinct and different, but often detached.

Last year we talked twice with members of the Anchorage Child Care and Early Education Fund implementation team. During 2024 they were doing research, hearing from the community, and making recommendations to the Anchorage Assembly about how to spend the $5 million dollars of marijuana tax money earmarked for Child Care and Early Education made possible by Proposition 14 in 2023.
On this episode I am joined by Trevor Storrs and Jessica Simonsen to get an update on what is happening with the ACCEE fund.

They have now arrived at their recommendations for the Mayor LaFrance and thew Anchorage Assembly.

There have been a good number of Major Leaguers to have their start in Alaska playing summer college baseball. Only two are in the Hall of Fame – Tom Seaver and Dave Winfield. But before there ever was summer college baseball in the state, one Hall of Fame player spent a part of their early career in Alaska. For that story we need to go back to 1946.
